Main Streets of Lycoming County holds Anchor Building Seminar.

One of her first duties as Our Towns 2010 Chairperson, Rhonda Taggart, invited Geoff Brace of the Pennsylvania Downtown Center to present a workshop-seminar regarding the Anchor Building Program to board members and other interested parties.
Mr. Brace said that “fill-the-gap” funding is available for the development of anchor buildings in municipalities. He cautioned that the applications for the grant money is highly competitive. Communities must identify eligible buildings that are unused or under utilized and - working with owners, developers and financial institutions - apply for funds that are, in effect, a revolving loan to the Main Street Programs.
